Pancakes with Caramel Apple Butter Recipe
7:20 PMIngredients for pancakes (Make 4-5 pancakes):
Plain Flour 2/3cups/95g
Sugar 3tbsp/51g
Corn Starch 1tbsp/8g
Baking Powder 1/2tbsp/6g
Salt A pinch
Egg 1no/52.5g
Milk 1/4cups + 1tbsp + 1tsp /100ml
Vegetable oil 1tbsp/14g (any neutral oil)
Method to steps for pancakes:
- Sieve plain flour, sugar, corn starch, baking powder and salt.
- Whisk egg and milk. Add 1/3 of flour mixture each time and mix until a smooth batter.
- Lastly, add vegetable oil and mix. Let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan at low heat, dam it with wet towel.
- Ladle 1/2 scoop and pour batter in the centre of the pan.
- Return non-stick pan to the stove. Let it cook for exactly 2 minutes.
- Flip pancake with spatula. Cook for another 1 minutes.
Ingredients for Caramel Apple Butter:
Sugar half of 1/4cups/28g
water 1tbsp/11g
Sliced Apple 1no or 1cups/130g
Cinnamon Powder 1/8tsp/0.4g
Clove Bud 1no or Clove powder a small pinch
nutmeg a small pinch
salt a small pinch
Milk 2tbsp/22g
Butter 1/8stick/30g
Method to steps for Caramel Apple Butter:
- In a small pot, combine sugar and water.
- Bring it to a boil. Swirl to combine sugar and water.
- Lower the fire and cook until the mixture turns a ember colour. Around 2.5 minutes.
- Add apple, cinnamon powder, clove, nutmeg and salt. Cook until apple has soften.
- Remove clove bud and blend the mixture into a smooth paste
- Return paste to pot. Add milk and butter. Stir until butter is melted.
