1. Sunny Side Up Egg:
Difficulty level: Very Easy
Total time to cook: 4 minutes
Method to steps for sunny side up:
- For first timer, crack egg in a different bowl. Discard any egg shell and impurities.
- Preheat non stick pan over medium heat. Add 1tsp/4g of oil and swirl to coat the pan evenly.
- Add egg and cook for exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds.
- Let it sit for 2 minutes to cook the egg whites.
2. Over Medium Egg:
Difficulty level: Easy
Total time to cook: 3.5 minutes
Method to steps for over medium egg:
- For first timer, crack egg in a different bowl. Discard any egg shell and impurities.
- Preheat non stick pan over medium heat. Add 1tsp/4g of oil and swirl to coat the pan evenly.
- Add egg and cook for exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds.
- Flip egg and cook for exactly 1 minute.
3. Soft boil eggs:
Difficulty level: Easy
Total time to cook: 6 minutes
Method to steps for soft boil eggs:
- Bring a pot of water to boil.
- Use a ladle to lower the room temperature eggs and cook for exactly 6 minutes.In the first 2 to 3 minutes, swirl the eggs in the water so that the yolk will stay in the middle (I didn't do it so my yolk is off centred)
- Immediately shock in ice water. When the eggs are cool to touch (5 seconds later), crack the eggs for the ice water to infiltrate into the shell.
- Remove egg shelf.
Note: If the eggs you using were sitting in the refrigerator for a long time and you have no time to wait for the eggs to come to room temperature.
- Get a small bowl.
- Add small amount of boiling water.
- Add egg, roll evenly to warm up the egg.
- Use ladle to lower the egg slowly into the boiling water.
- Cook for 6 minutes and 30 seconds instead of 6 minutes.
Note: If your eggs crack or you see egg white gushing out of the shell, you do not need to discard the eggs. Cook for 5 minutes 30 seconds instead of 6 minutes
4. Hard boiled egg:
Difficulty level: Very Easy
Total time to cook: 12 minutes
Method to steps for hard boiled egg:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil.
- Use a ladle to lower the room temperature eggs, cook for exactly 10 minutes. In the first 2 to 3 minutes, swirl the eggs in the water so that the yolk will stay in the middle (I didn't do it so my yolk is off centred)
- Immediately shock egg in cold water.
- Remove egg shell.
5. Sou Vide egg:
Difficulty level: Very Easy
Total time to cook: 50 minutes
Method to steps for sou vide egg:
- If you have a sou vide machine, set the machine to 63°C or 145 °F.
- If you do not have a sou vide machine, preheat oven to 63°C or 145 °F together with a bowl of water.
- Add egg gently in the water and cook for 50 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
6. Poached egg recipe:
Difficulty level: Medium
Total time to cook: 8 minutes
Method to steps for poached egg:
- Bring a pot of water to a simmering point.
- Wet a cup/cupcake tin with water. Place cling film over and push into the cup to create a pocket.
- Put some oil and coat the cling film evenly.
- Crack an egg into the pocket. Tie tightly to secure the egg.
- Lower into the water and cook for exactly 8 minutes.
- Shock in ice water immediately. Remove cling film when the egg is cool to touch.
7. Scramble egg:
Difficulty level: Medium
Total time to cook: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
Whole Egg 1no/52g
Milk 1 tsp/4g
Salt A pinch
White Pepper A pinch
Butter 1tsp/5g
Method to steps for scramble egg:
- Whisk egg, milk, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Melt butter in a non stick pan. Over low heat
- When butter has melted, add the egg mixture in.
- When the side starts to cook, push it towards the centre of pan to create folds.
- The cooked part of the egg will stay in the centre while the uncooked egg will flow and fill up the side of the pan.
- Repeat step 4 until desire doneness of the egg.
7. French Omelet egg:
Difficulty level: Hard
Total time to cook: 12 minutes
Ingredients:
Whole Egg 1no/52g
Milk 1 tsp/4g
Salt A pinch
White Pepper A pinch
Butter 1tsp/5g
Method to steps for omelette egg:
- Whisk egg, milk, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Melt butter in a non stick pan. Over low heat
- When butter has melted, add the egg mixture in.
- When the side starts to cook, push it towards the centre of pan to create folds.
- The cooked part of the egg will stay in the centre while the uncooked egg will flow and fill up the side of the pan.
- Repeat step 4 two more times. Shake the pan for the egg to coat fully the bottom
- Turn off the fire
- Tile the pan downwards. Gently fold the egg away from you.
- Shake the pan upwards and gently fold the egg towards you.
- Using the plate as a support, flip to show the smooth side of the omelet
