Ingredients for Mini Donuts:
Cake Flour 1/4 + 1/3 cups / 102g
Baking Powder 1tsp/ 4g
Whole Egg 1nos/50g
White Sugar 2tbsp/23.5g
Fresh Milk 2tbsp/30g
Melted Butter 1tbsp/13.2g
Salt a small pinch
Method to steps for Mini Donuts:
- Sieve cake flour and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg, white sugar, fresh milk, melted butter and salt. Mix until combine.
- Add wet ingredients into flour mixture. For even mixing, add wet ingredients in third. Make sure that there are no flour lumps in the batter. The batter should be thick and smooth.
- In a large pot, on medium heat, bring oil to 170°C/ 340°C. Lower the flames to low after it reaches the desired temperature.
- Prepare two spoons. Dip one spoon into the preheated oil (only need to do it once for every batch). Spoon some batter onto the oiled spoon. Use the other spoon to push the batter into the oil mixture.
- Make 5 to 6 donuts for every batch. Flip it over for even browning. Take the donuts out when they turn lightly golden brown.
- Drain off excess oil using paper towel.
- Flavour the donuts which ever your heart desires. A few suggestion would be glaze (icing sugar with milk), cinnamon sugar, chocolate ganache, nutella, green tea powder etc. Have fun!
